Lake Kawana General Practice is excited to welcome Dr Kyla Bremner to the team. Dr Bremner has just relocated to the Sunshine Coast from Canberra and is looking forward to enjoying the warmer climate.
Dr Kyla Bremner graduated from the University of Sydney with honours in 2006. She worked for several years as a GP and Emergency doctor in a remote town on the coast of Canada, accessible only by boat or plane. She returned to Australia in 2014 and worked in Canberra up until the middle of 2020. She has special interests in paediatrics including child development and autism, women’s health including family planning (Mirena and Implanon insertions and removals), pregnancy and menopause, travel medicine and vaccination plus skin checks and skin cancer excisions. She says she loves the variety of General Practice and building relationships with patients. She enjoys being able to support people to improve their physical and emotional health.
Dr Bremner was the first woman to represent Australia in wrestling at the 2008 Olympics. She married the coach of the Polish Olympic team and they have three young boys.
Dr Bremner welcomes new patients and will be working every weekday except Wednesday.
